I’ve finally found a simple solution on how to publish in non-western characters like Chinese, Japanese or Korean. After looking for some plugins, most of them are for translating languages or require some kind of modifications to the template, which I thought was totally unnecessary. So I remained patient, keep looking and eventually did I find a way!
There are four easy steps to accomplish this.
1) go to the wp-config file in your wordpress directory.
2) you will see this line:
define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’);
3) put a comment, //, to the beginning of lines:
//define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’);
This deactivates character encoding in the database that holds entries.
4) Save and exit.
And you’re all done! happy multilingual-ing. :-)

It’s my goal to go to each one. I’ve already gone to some. One thing I’m a little proud of doing was getting all on five bridges around the bay area. Cool!
*update* I’ve gone to all of those except for San Francisco Zoo and the new museum.
from SFtravel.com
Alcatraz Island boat rides and prison tours – Alcatraz Island prison is an incredible experience which can be seen from private charters or toured from Alcatraz boat tours. Cruise the beautiful Bay on a guided boat ride galore & see beautiful views of the bay and Marin County.
Muir Woods – Beautiful forests; same place where Star Wars:New Hope was shot in, with those Ewoks. Ha.
Fisherman’s Wharf – great tourist place, fresh crabs off the markets, clam chowder. Great place to be people-watching, which I love doing.
Napa Valley Wine Country – The world’s premier wine growing region is a great way to enjoy sunny Napa wine tastings or ride the Napa Valley Wine Train.
Union Square Shopping – If you really must shop, go here– but you may want to avoid the hordes of pushy crowds. The 2nd biggest tourist trap in the City with a brand new San Francisco shopping center.
AT&T baseball stadium – where San Francisco Giants play at
Candlestick Stadium – where 49ers play
San Francisco Zoo – Great family activity with reasonable temperatures, lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes, a petting zoo and more….
Castro District – Gay Village Celebrate one of America’s largest gay communities in the sunny Castro district.

The Cult of ViVimperator. I’m trying to navigate through the web freely without a mouse. I’m slowly getting there, need to learn how to use mappings and some modifications here and there, then I should be pretty solid. :-)
Watching a vi guru doing some heavy editing on a file, as her fingers fly over the keys and textual transformations sweep across the screen, one could believe that one is in the presence of supernatural powers. “Awesome”, the audience murmur to themselves. Maybe.
Ha, I wanna be like that, a Vi pro. :-)

After all those times, I realize I like to do journalism. Cool.
Journalism is the discipline of gathering, writing and reporting news, and broadly it includes the process of editing and presenting the news articles. Journalism applies to various media, but is not limited to newspapers, magazines, radio, and television. Some high schools promote journalism as an elective class.
Journalism is what we know to be magazines, reporters, newspapers, and articles on websites such as Wiki-pedia. How to become a journalist? Major in English, journalism, or a type of creative writing. Also good to have past experiences about creative, expressive and realistic writing.
While under pressure to be the first to publish its stories, each news media organization adheres to its own standards of accuracy, quality, and style usually editing and proofreading its reports prior to publication. Many news organizations claim proud traditions of holding government officials and institutions accountable to the public, while media critics have raised questions on the accountability of the press.
The word journalism is taken from the French journal which in turn comes from the Latin diurnal or daily; The Acta Diurna, a handwritten bulletin, was put up daily in the Forum, the main public square in ancient Rome, and was the world’s first newspaper.
News-oriented journalism was described by former Washington Post editor, Phil Graham, as “a first rough draft of history”, because journalists often record important historical events as they are happening, but at the same time, they must produce their news articles on short deadlines.
Journalism’s activities include stating Who, What, When, Where,and Why (and sometimes How), famously quoted by Rudyard Kipling (see the Five Ws), and stating the significance and effects of certain events or trends. Journalism exists in a number of media: newspapers, television, radio, magazines and, most recently, the World Wide Web through the Internet.

20 Things I Wish I Had Known When Starting Out in Life
#7. All the stuff you’re doing that seems hard — it will be of use. This is the first one that might not be as obvious. There were times in my life when work was hard, and I did it anyway, but hated it. I did it because I had to, but boy did it stress me out and leave me exhausted. Hard work isn’t as easy as I wanted it to be. But you know what? Every bit of hard work I did without knowing why I was doing it … it’s paid off for me in the long run. Maybe not right away, but I’m using skills and habits I learned during those times of high stress and long hours and tedious work — I use them all the time, and they’ve made me into the person I am today. Thank you, younger Leo!
Exactly! I’m living it out. Studying Korean is hard right now…but I know it’ll pay off. :-)

Does anyone know a plugin that will allow me to publish Korean characters? I was able to type in Korean but when I published it, it didn’t take in the characters. I’m learning Korean. Thanks in advance.

Here’s for a starter on Steven Pinker who is a linguist/professor at MIT. He supports that ASL is a language since humans have an innate ability to communicate, thus a language. :-)
